The twenty-fourth issue of Spectral Realms features a wealth of poetry and prose-poetry from such leading figures as Scott J. Couturier, Kendall Evans, Wade German, Darrell Schweitzer, John Shirley, Steven Withrow, and others.
David Barker continues his deft reworking of Lovecraft’s Fungi from Yuggoth sonnets, while Ann K. Schwader evokes the dreamer from Providence in “Yuggoth at the Rim.” Adam Bolivar contributes more of his distinctive verse inspired by Anglo-Saxon models; Maxwell I. Gold sends in poems in both prose and verse; and Lori I. Lopez’s “The Gargoyle’s Cat” draws upon the eternal mystery of felines.
Among the classic reprints are a poem in Weird Tales by Mary Sharon and one by the celebrated English poet Alfred Noyes. Scott J. Couturier and S. T. Joshi supply thoughtful reviews of recent books of contemporary verse.
