The Necronomicon: Manuscript of the Dead, written by Antonis Antoniades, is a fiction , thrilling novel who recreates the historical circumstances that led Theodorus Philetas to translate Alhazred's Arabic text into Greek, and I found myself unable to put it down. Its combination of nerve-racking tension, thrilling action, and engaging love story kept me up until the wee hours. I was surprised at how completely engrossing the plot was. This story is set in the past , seems thu to travel you in future where the evil oppresses its people, the book also borrows ideas from the myths of Lovercraft ,but it seems to me that explores a new and extraordinary kind of reaching the usual books that had be written about equal subjects . Philetas and his cohorts must prevent the entry into our world of the cosmic entity Dagon, as predicted in Alhazred's tome.
Once I started reading it, I could not put it down.
The Necronomicon provided a backdrop to one of the most enthralling plots I have ever read. Philetas constantly battles with and for his friends to supernatural,survive,quilty,love for survival. He makes and loses friends, and I became so attached to him and his fellows that I was dying to find out how the book ended. While the plot is mainly what drives this book, the creativity of this world and the concept of the Supernatural also impressed me. In addition, the characters are all very strong and exhibit character development throughout the book.
I found this book absolutely enthralling. It seems extremely intense for anyone that love the history and fiction altogether
The intensity of the action was something one would find in mature book rarely at nowadays .
Overall, The Necronomicon was an excellent, enthralling and historical read that I highly recommend ,since the author have made a great compination of sci-fi ,history,love and the battle of life against the quilts and the horrors both real and supernatural ,it was a fantastic book with a wonderfully creative plot.
